Accept Yr. Hair Loss

Lyrics

For those who feel their
hair follicles
Are making them feel like
a molecule
I say this much
Shave it all off
Accept your hair loss

Years ago I started losing
my hair
I felt more than a modicum
of despair
I happened to be over
in London
On the building sites
Then one day I went
to a tenement building
in Brixton
Where a man with a Basil
Rathbone voice
Gave me bottles of orange
green and pink
It made no difference
There was still a fortune
tellers tea leaf effect
Strands of hair lying
in the sink
I knew then my hair cover
would be edited
The prognosis would
be negative
I went over to a place
called Rathmines
Where an up and coming
pharmacist
With an orange toupee
And submarine submerged
eyes when he looked
my way
His eyes seemed to say your
soul will be mine someday
I was afraid to walk under
a street lamp at night
In case a gang of females
crossing the road
Would see me coming
And think my head was like
a lightbulb
Then I started to realise
No one gave a shit about
me and my hair
They had their own wells
of misery
Their own private hells
of despair
And the worst thing about
hair loss
Is not trying to cover over
The Sahara desert on your
head that is spreading wide
It’s the frost in your soul
That is forming inside
So anyone out there
that feels
There is an invisible Moses
Trying to lead their follicles
To a hypothetical promised
land
That they themselves
are uninvited to
I say this much
Shave it all off
Accept your hair loss
